92-year-old taken to hospital following suspected car-jacking in Kingsford

About 9pm on Saturday 25 January 2025, emergency services were called to Gardeners Road, Kingsford, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command arrived to find a sedan had hit a tree after an unknown person had attempted to remove the driver for the car before leaving the scene.

The driver, a 92-year-old man, was uninjured; however, he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for assessment.

Police are investigating the incident and have taken the car for forensic examination.
