Two fishermen found dead after suspected rock fishing incident in Little Bay

Two bodies have been discovered by emergency services after a suspected rock fishing incident today in Little Bay.

Just after 11:00am (7th July, 2024) Surf life savers, police and ambulance paramedics responded to the rocks along the coastline. They were supported by helicopters from NSW Ambulance, NSW Police and Westpac Lifesaver.

Police rescue crews retrieved one person who is understood to be male from a crevice in around 30 metres from the edge of the water. A fishing pole was also discovered.

Following the first rescue, a second body was discovered deep within the crevice.

Rescue of the second body has proven challenging and emergency services are working on the retrieval.

The first person was winched following the initial recovery.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
