Arson suspected as "Friendly Jordies" Bondi home set on fire

At around 12.30am residents and neighbours evacuated their homes after a suspected arson attack in Wilga St Bondi.

Fire crews arrived to find a home well alight. A 2nd alarm structure fire was declared by fire fighters. Crews got to work with two lines of 38mm hose line to prevent fire spread. A ladder appliance was set up to examine the fire scene from above.

This was the 2nd suspected arson attack in the past week. A previous incident was reported by neighbours to have occured on Wednesday 16th of November where a smaller fire was found in a similar location.

The controversial political comedian Friendly Jordies lives at the back of the impacted property however Jordan was not home at the time of the fire.

Two elderly residents escaped the main property and another three neighbours evacuated their home next door.

A crime scene was established by police and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
