Three men have escaped injury after the car they were driving had lost control and crashed into the front of a home in Matraville.

A woman has been arrested following a police operation in Baird Ave in Matraville this morning.

Police from Eastern Suburbs local area command gathered in large numbers to systematically shut down Biddigal Reserve, Ben Buckler and surrounding grassed areas including the beach after large crowds gathered.

A 71-year-old female has been rescued after launching her car over a footpath, into a building and over a car in Double Bay.

A middle aged man has been arrested following an alleged break and enter at a unit block on Oakley Rd in North Bondi overnight.

Emergency services responded to a building fire on Bunnerong Rd, Matraville at 7.40pm this evening.
