Two stabbed in Maroubra with offender on the run

Two people have been stabbed, understood to be a mother and son after an incident on Yorktown Parade in Maroubra this evening.

At around 4.30pm today (9 July, 2023) a 63-year-old woman and 31-year-old man were treated by paramedics prior to being taken to hospital.

It's understood the woman suffered a hand injury and severed finger, whilst the man received torso injuries.

A specialist medical team landed by helicopter nearby and assisted other intensive care crews.

The alleged offender fled the scene and police have established a crime scene.

It's understood the three were known to each other.
