Man arrested after alleged drunken crash in Clovelly

A man has been arrested following a car crash on Beach St Clovelly at around 2.15am this morning.
Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle overturned following a crash with a parked car.
Two further parked cars were shunted into one another due to the force of the impact.
The man was able to free himself prior to the arrival of emergency services however upon police questioning, the driver failed a roadside breath test which resulted in alleged high range drink driving pending formal test results.
The man was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station where he underwent a BAS, returning an alleged reading of 0.154. He was submitted to a drug test, returning a positive indication to Cannabis. The man was charged with drive with high range PCA and Illicit drug. He is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 26 March 2025.
Police have left information cards on the three of the parked cars, one which is likely to be written off.
