Woman attacked by Shark in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney
A 29-Year-Old female has sustained a shark bite after swimming in Elizabeth Bay this evening.
Police, Paramedics and the specialist medical retrieval unit responded to a waterfront property in Elizabeth Bay just after 7.00pm this evening.
A witnessed stated she heard screams as the attack took place. Bystanders rushed to her aid and applied direct pressure to an extensive leg wound.
It's understood a bone was broken in the attack and a bull shark may have been responsible.
Paramedics transported the woman to hospital in good spirts and she waved goodbye to her friends prior to being transported to St Vincent's hospital for likely surgery.
