Motorcycle rider dies after bus crash in Kensington

At around 3pm emergency services were called to the intersection of Alison Road and Doncaster Avenue, Kensington, following reports of bus and a motorcycle colliding.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a male rider in a critical condition. CPR was performed on scene and on route to hospital. He was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.

A specialist medical team responded and met with another ambulance crew on route.

Despite all efforts from paramedics, police and bystanders, the man, understood to be 40 years old died in hospital.

A 34-year-old female bus driver was uninjured and taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding this crash.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or dash cam footage is urged to contact Eastern Beaches Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
