Police investigate car fire in Waratah St, North Bondi after man flees scene

A man has been caught on CCTV fleeing the scene in Waratah St following a car fire in North Bondi overnight.

Residents were woken to the sound of a car horn at around 3.00am this morning after a car was located in a dead end street which was allegedly set on fire.

Fire & Rescue arrived to find the car fully engulfed in flames. Police attended the scene along with NSW Ambulance.

Residents reviewed CCTV vision and discovered a male had fled the scene at the time of the fire.

The destroyed vehicle found was bearing Victorian number plates.

Police are investigating the fire and examining CCTV.
