Woman dies after being rescued from water in Gordon's Bay
A woman who was pulled from the water this afternoon on Sydney's Eastern Beaches has died.
At around 1.40pm today emergency services were called to Gordons Bay in Clovelly following reports an unconscious woman had been pulled from the water.
Police from Eastern Beaches local area command responded and were advised that a 47-year-old woman had been swimming in the water where she appears to have suffered a medical episode.
NSW Ambulance paramedics responded with multiple intensive care crews, special operations paramedics and the rescue helicopter.
Council and Surf Life Saving Lifeguards also assisted with the rescue.
Around 45 minutes of CPR was performed prior to paramedics declaring the woman deceased.
Despite the efforts of all, she could not be saved.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
