Man drowns after boating incident in Vaucluse
About 1.30pm (Sunday 9 October 2022), emergency services responded to reports a man had fallen off a boat into waters in Sydney Harbour near Neilson Park, Vaucluse.
The man was retrieved by officers attached to Marine Area Command and taken to shore where he treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however died at the scene.
The man is yet to be formally identified, however believed to be aged in his 60’s.
An 18-year-old man on board the vessel at the time was uninjured and returned to shore.
Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident have commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
