Man critical after NSW Ambulance crashes with pedestrian in Surry Hills
Shortly after midnight (Sunday 9 October 2022), police were called to Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, following reports an ambulance had struck a pedestrian.
Paramedics treated a 32-year-old man at the scene for serious head injuries before taking him to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he is reported to be in a critical condition.
Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have been told the ambulance crew was responding to an urgent call for assistance.
