Man critical after falling from building in Bondi Junction
At around 11.30pm (Saturday 28 January 2023), emergency services were called to Ebley Street in Bondi Junction after receiving reports that a man had fallen from a rooftop.
A 20 Year old male had fallen some eight metres from a building and suffered significant head and chest injuries.
Intensive care paramedics treated the man and requested the assistance of a specialist medical team. A NSW Ambulance Doctor responded from Bankstown and performed surgical procedures in the street prior to transportation. A blood transfusion was also given to stabilize the man prior to transport.
The man was taken to St Vincent’s hospital in a critical condition where he is expected to undergo surgery.
The reasons why the man fell or what he was doing on the rooftop remain unclear, however the man was with friends at the time of the incident.
Just after 12.15pm in a separate incident, a 42-year-old man fell three metres from a balcony. It’s understood the man was trying to access his unit after being locked out.
The man was transported to hospital in a stable condition with chest, pelvic & limb injuries.
NSW Ambulance Commander Michael Corlis said in an interview that residents need to think about other alternatives if needing to access their property after being locked out, especially if alcohol is involved.
