Man arrested after entering woman's home in Bondi

A middle aged man has been arrested following an alleged break and enter at a unit block on Oakley Rd in North Bondi overnight.

At approximately 3.30am police from Eastern Suburbs Local area command responded to an urgent call for assistance after a man had allegedly entered the property with a female inside.

Police received information that this was not the first time the male had attempted to gain access, but it was the first time he had gained access inside the unit.

Police arrested the man and transported him to Waverley Police Station where he is expected to be charged.

A crime scene was established with a specialist forensic unit called.

An ambulance arrived to assess the woman who was in shock. Her age is unknown.

The man is expected to undergo a psychological assessment.
