Man in serious condition after being hit by car in Rose Bay

A man in his seventies is in a serious condition after being hit by a car on New South Head Rd in Rose Bay this morning.

At around 9.30am emergency services responded to the incident. NSW Police closed traffic in both directions.

Local Pharmacist Bill Graves was one of the first to assist, he was supported by a local doctor, NSW Ambulance and Hatzolah Community First Responders.

A specialist medical team landed in Lyne Park by helicopter and was transported lights and sirens to the accident scene by police.

The patient was sedated by the medical team prior to being transported to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The cause of the crash remains unclear and police are investigating.

New South Head Road is expected to remain closed whilst crash investigation takes place.

Traffic remains gridlocked across much of the Rose Bay area.
