Man dies another injured after motorcycle crash in Maroubra

A man has died and another has been transported in a serious condition following a high speed motorcycle crash in Maroubra.

At around 8.20pm this evening (12th Feb 2023) emergency services responded to Moverly Rd Maroubra following reports of a major crash.

On arrival of emergency services CPR was performed on the driver and a 33 year-old man was treated with serious facial injuries.

Police stated that the rider of the motorcycle died at the scene before the arrival of emergency services. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a 30-year-old man.

Two specialist aero medical teams responded by road and air. They assisted intensive care and general duty paramedics.

Despite their best efforts, the male driver of the motorcycle was declared deceased on scene.

A medical escort was arranged by NSW police for the passenger.

The street remains closed and crash investigation is under way.

Witnesses to the event are urged to contact police.
