Large tree collapses onto Double Bay road

A large tree has collapsed in Ocean Ave in Double Bay at around 11.15pm last night (11th January, 2023)

Residents and motorists contacted emergency services following the collapse.

No motorists or pedestrians were injured in the collapse however a neighbour had reported a similar incident in April 2018 where another tree had collapsed only 30 metres away.

The resident said that the trees are not inspected thoroughly and feels that others are a threat to the community.

Fire & Rescue NSW worked with NSW Police Highway Patrol to clear the tree.

NSW SES attended to support other emergency services.
