Scooter rider in serious condition following crash in Bondi

A 49-year-old woman is in a serious but stable condition following a motor scooter crash in Bondi.

At around 1.00pm today it's understood a scooter and car collided at approximately 60km/h on the intersection of Bondi Rd and Denham St, leaving the scooter rider in a serious condition.

The woman suffered significant lower limb injuries with paramedics describing injuries as a compound fracture. A family friend advised medical professionals were able to save her leg.

Police closed Bondi Rd in one direction whilst investigations are underway.
