Police investigate suspicious bushfire in Malabar
Police are investigating the cause of a suspicious bushfire that started along the Malabar coastline in the eastern parts of the Anzac Rifle Range this evening.
At approximately 7.30pm emergency services responded to triple zero calls to bush alight.
Fire & Rescue NSW responded with numerous crews however access down the remote trails proved challenging.
Fire crews setup established a water supply chain and rotated fire crews due to the remote area and water supply challenges.
Approximately 1000 square metres of bush was destroyed.
Fire crews bought the fire under control just after 9.30pm.
Police searched the coastline and questioned a number of youths in the area. It remains unclear what started the fire.
