Man stabbed multiple times in the face after vicious attack in Pyrmont
A man has been stabbed in the face and arms multiple times during a vicious assault at Pyrmont overnight.
At around 10.50pm police responded to the intersection of Pyrmont Bridge Road and Wattle Streets after receiving reports of an assault.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command found a 36 year old man suffering multiple stab wound to his face and arms.
It's understood one of the stab wounds was to one of his eyes.
NSW Ambulance responded two transport cars, one being general duties, one being intensive care, an ambulance commander and a specialist medical team.
The man was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital prior to the arrival of the specialist medical team.
The victim is expected to undergo emergency surgery.
NSW Police have been told the man was attacked while being assaulted by a group of up to 10 males.
A large crime scene has been established and detectives are investigating the scene.
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man at a unit on Wattle Street just after 2am (Saturday 1 August 2020). He has been taken to Day Street Police Station.
A 15-year-old boy has also been arrested at an Eastwood home. He has been taken to Ryde Police Station.
